How to Pull Off a Casual Prom Look and Feel Like the Coolest Girl at the Dance

As much as we love floor-length gowns, sparkly heels, and jeweled hairpieces, we have to admit that there's something so effortlessly cool (and insanely practical) about showing up to prom in a look you might actually be able to wear again...and again.
Take blogger Monica-Beatrice's outfit at left, for example. Her bright floral dress is the perfect counterpart to a slick leather jacket, and her coordinating shoe-and-heel combo provides just the right pop of teal. We could totally see wearing this get-up to prom as is, but if you want to make it just a touch more formal, opt for a high bun with volume, a bright lip, and a super-glam heel. Those little touches will make it clear that you're headed out for a special night...not just a fancier-than-average grad party.
